Trauma-Informed

Evidence-Based

Liberation Lens

I offer gentle counseling to help you heal and grow. I practice through a lens that recognizes people are doing the best they can in a world that isn’t always designed for us to thrive. I practice, informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), evidence-based forms of treatment that are effective in helping people heal from trauma and find inner peace. Using a liberation lens, I seek to understand people's lived experiences with great compassion and without judgement. Combined with body-focused techniques, these gentle practices can support you as you find healing and balance in your body, mind, and soul.

Hello

My name is Joy Slabaugh

My goal is to partner with people on their healing journey. I graduated with honors from Arcadia University with a M.A. in Counseling and a Trauma Certificate. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) by the IFS Institute. I hold the LAMHC provisional license and am working under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor.

My life path has provided me with experiences that include decades counseling people on topics related to their money and their emotions, and optimizing work performance. I have spent many years as an entrepreneur and in high impact corporate roles, which has given me an appreciation for the way capitalism influences our sense of personal worth. I hold multiple degrees, certifications, and licenses from my prior career in investment advice, including the Certified Financial Planner(tm) designation and a M.S. in Taxation from Villanova University.
